Joanne Fasano is a 1st degree brown belt at Franklin Family Karate in Franklin, Massachusetts. She started in 2015 at the age of 51 under Mr Sean Crehan, 7th Degree Black Belt.
She loves helping Mr. Crehan with his Women’s Assault Prevention classes, and her goal is to get her Black Belt and to be able to run her own Assault Prevention classes someday. She attends all the local Kenpo seminars that she can. In July 2024 she traveled to Spokane, Washington, to attend Mr. John Sepulveda’s AKTS Spirit camp, and in May 2025 she traveled to Ireland to attend Mr. Downey’s European Kenpo Camp. She is honored and grateful to have met so many Kenpo leaders, teachers, and fellow students and to be asked to be the East Coast Board Member for the International Women of Kenpo in July 2024.
Joanne lives in Franklin, Massachusetts, with her husband. Her two boys are now married and living nearby, and she became a grandmother this year. She is currently retired after a 32-year career in IT Project Management.
Besides Kenpo, she enjoys hiking, golfing, skiing, beekeeping, and home renovations with her husband, as well as traveling in their camper.
