Hi! My name is Savannah Priestley. I am from southern Idaho and currently practicing Kenpo under the Ultimate Impact American Kenpo Alliance. I’ve loved practicing Kenpo for the past 12 years. I just recently achieved my 2nd degree black belt, and I couldn’t be happier with it! Kenpo has been a big part of my growing up.
My father created his own dojo, and I was fortunate enough to assist in teaching many of the youth and teen classes. I especially love helping teach the adult self defense courses, and I believe strongly that self defense is an essential life skill.
My fellow practitioners call me a tiger or viper when I test. Even though I’m smaller in size, I have gained so much confidence practicing amongst such strong men and women. I love that this art is realistic and based on scientific principles of movement.
As a woman in Kenpo, I’ve found a great balance in myself while practicing these principles of movement. Kenpo has shown me that I can be both gentle and aggressive at the same time. Through Kenpo I’ve found great confidence in myself and also increased my own self love and compassion.
My favorite aspect of Kenpo is love. I do Kenpo because I love my family, friends, and self deeply. For those wanting to explore martial arts, I highly recommend Kenpo. This has been an empowering, stress relieving, and exciting
