Sorcha Grendon

I began my Kenpo Karate journey in 2003 at just four years old, training with the Loreto College Kenpo Karate Club. My parents enrolled me so I would learn to defend myself—little did they know how profoundly this art would shape my life and the person I am today.

I have the privilege of training under GM Alan Corrigan and Masters of the Arts Freda Roberts and Dermot O’Reilly—an extraordinary group of instructors whose knowledge, passion, and dedication are unmatched. Loreto College is more than just my club; it is my family. My instructors and club mates have watched me grow up, supporting me not only in karate but also in my personal life. They truly are one in a million, and I hope that one day I can inspire others the way they have inspired me.

Kenpo Karate has been a constant presence in my life—from childhood, through my teenage years, and now as an adult. It has brought my family and I across the world, competing in European and international championships, attending seminars, and participating in training camps. The art has opened countless doors for me, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunities it has provided.

I have been a member of the IKKA Europe TNG group since our first meeting in Utrecht in 2019, and I am excited to see the ideas and energy that the Next Generation of Kenpo Karate will bring. I look forward to continuing to help inspire and support the future of our art.
