Carina Salvo Born on May 15, 1976 in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic, current President of the American Kenpo Institute (AKI)
I began my martial activity in 1990 venturing into the Argentine Institute of Martial Art, reaching the graduation of 1st. Dan; At the same time, I trained at the World Karate Academy, holding the 2nd graduation. Dan, was a Kick-boxing practitioner, getting to participate in professional fights, to then start my steps in American Kenpo to date, currently holding the 6th Degree Black Belt graduation. During his training in American Kenpo he had the opportunity to train with the greatest exponents of this art worldwide, Richard Planas, Mohamad Tabatabai, Paul Dye, Frank Trejo, Larry Tatum, Jeff Speakman, John Sepulveda , Joe Palanzo, Tom Kelly, among others .. he also participated in trainings and seminars with Benny Urquidez, Bill Wallace, Gene Lebell, to name just a few.
Among my various studies, I have the title of Technique in Boxing, awarded by the Argentine Boxing Federation, I am a Senior Professor in High Performance Sports, Professor of Sports Bodybuilding, Social Psychologist and Student of the Degree in Civil Protection and Emergencies. In addition, since the end of 1994 to date I have been a Police Officer, an activity that led me to review in places such as: Dto. Presidential Security, Superintendency of Metropolitan Security, Federal Aviation Corps, Tactical and Riot Equipment. Current permanent teacher in three police training institutes for ten years in the area of Police Operational Defense. Among the various trainings in the police area we can mention: CIVIPOL Civil Police Officer-United Nations-, INTERPOL Course, K9 Courses -Explosives, Narcotics and Security-, Shooting Instructor, Tactical Medicine Operator, PFA Lifeguard Course, Security in relation to International Terrorism, Course on Teaching and Teaching Techniques, both given by Amada Argentina; among others. My professional performance led me to receive a Diploma of Honor, awarded by the Honorable Senate of the Argentine Nation.
Sports achievements include 1st place in the 1997 Professional Karate Commission World Championship -Atlanta USA-, as well as multiple national and international titles. Founder of a technical program applicable one hundred percent to police operations, which led to the development of an instructive video by Budo International called American Kenpo Karate Police Instruction. Designer of the training programs for martial teachers in relation to physical-sports conditioning -Technicians in Physical Conditioning focused on Martial Arts and Combat Sports-.The various activities in the dissemination of art in international magazines of the medium and other activities led me to be distinguished as Martial Artist of the Year, in the Hall of Fame held in Valencia, Spain in 2010.
Speaker at the World Police Congress -Valencia, Spain-. My interaction and international recognition earned me the Police Instructor of the Year award. -2010- Dedicated to the dissemination and improvement of the American Kenpo-Karate system through various activities, also venturing into training and compatibility of the concepts and principles of the system in police work by developing separate training books and instructional videos .
