Sandra Quirós

Meet Sandra Quirós — 3rd Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo and living proof that height is just a suggestion

Sandra started training Kenpo at the age of 9 in Jaén, Spain, and has been proving people wrong ever since. At 22, she’s a 3rd Degree Black Belt, trained under the lineage of Frank Trejo and David Menefee, guided by her instructor Lorenzo Casas — and still often the smallest person among the highest belts.

In recent years, she’s taken her Kenpo beyond borders, training and sharing the tatami in places like Germany, Barcelona, and Dublin. This international path helped her pass her 3rd Degree exams and establish herself as a high-performance athlete.

Academically, Sandra doesn’t slow down either: she’s graduated in Primary Education with a specialization in Physical Education and is currently completing a Master’s in Research and Teaching in Physical Activity and Health Sciences. Basically, brains, technique, and timing — all covered.

Because of her height, Sandra often becomes the perfect demo for every “what if” scenario:

Sandra Quirós shows that American Kenpo is about skill, intelligence, adaptability — and never judging a fighter by their size
