My name is Shai Ann Kanow and I am 16 years old. I was born and raised in Telluride, Colorado and I am currently a junior in high school. I have been doing Kenpo Karate since I was 5 years old.
Throughout the past 11 years of my journey, karate has taught me how to stay committed and persevere. It also has taught me the confidence I need to go out into the world and know I can protect myself. It has taught me to be flexible when situations change, and throughout some bumps in the road, I realized how much karate meant to me.
I am so thankful that this black belt test was able to happen by local black belts, and a team who flew in from Costa Mesa.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible, to my parents, the Bob White Karate Studio, and all my teachers and supporters, I am so proud to be part of the Kenpo family! I am excited to start teaching and continue my Kenpo journey!
