Grandmaster Donna Vinbury – Judan (10th degree black belt)
Grandmaster Donna Vinbury has been a Kenpo practitioner for over 44 years under Senior Grandmaster George Pesare, the founder of Kenpo Karate in New England. In 2000 GM Vinbury was promoted to 9th Degree by Senior Grandmaster Victor Sonny Gascon and then to 10th Degree by Senior Grandmaster George Pesare in Jan. 2011.
She was the first woman to be promoted to 10th Degree in Kenpo Karate in the World.
GM Vinbury is an accomplished blade fighter, certified blade instructor and referee. She was a founding council board member of the International Kenpo Council of Grandmasters (IKCG) and inducted into the IKCG Hall of Fame.
Grandmaster Vinbury has judged numerous World title kickboxing fights as well as choreographed the fighting sequences in the Nutcracker Ballet at the Providence Performing Arts Ctr. She was a member of the Rhode Island Police Combat Pistol League and was a founding member of SGM Pesare’s PCC, Permanent Classification Committee.
GM Vinbury is only one of two Kenpo practitioners in the world teaching the original curriculum of both SGM Victor Gascon and SGM George Pesare. GM Vinbury graduated from Rhode Island College with BSN and is a practicing Registered Nurse and Certified Case Manager
